Our core mission is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ and the gospel of his Resurrection to the ends of the earth for the salvation of souls. Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, but He also left His Church in the hands of twelve Apostles who, thanks to the Holy Spirit, spread the Good News as far as their feet would carry them. Our Lord continues to entrust every generation to pass down the faith, by equipping them with sound formation to boldly proclaim the Gospel and safeguard his bride, the Church, so that she might flourish.

Practically speaking, around ninety percent of all the bishops in the world have received advanced formation at one of the few pontifical universities in Rome. In the priest's vocational call, these years of formation are fundamental for all future apostolates, in serving God and His people wherever the Lord calls them. The reality, however, is that many bishops, especially of poor or persecuted countries, simply do not have the resources to send their future diocesan leaders to Rome without the generous aid of Catholics everywhere.

The Formation Foundation, with your support, offers these bishops a chance to send their future diocesan leaders to receive a robust intellectual and spiritual formation that is accompanied by a daily sacramental life at our partner institution in Rome, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Our purpose is to ensure the best education possible, in prayer and fidelity to the Magisterium, to as many current and future priests as possible, most of whom will become the next generation of rectors, spiritual directors, judicial vicars, vicar generals, bishops, cardinals, and even one day, perhaps popes.
